Profile Information

Promo / Venue Intro
Happi Johnson (real name "Sally") is a lady who has recently reentered the world of comedy, after a 20+ year hiatus.
Initially, Sally was an award-winning writer who wrote for television, radio and comedy shows and performers. She had a successful career in the broadcasting business as a comedy writer and performer for top radio and television shows around the country.
In the 1970's. Sally was cast as the only female member of a highly-popular cult television phenomenon, "The Oasis Theater" in South Florida, the #1 show for its time slot in that market. Her work, as a writer and performer, was fast becoming a hot commodity!
In the 1980's, Sally joined forces with another funny man in Florida named Dick, and together they formed the comedy team of "Fun with Dick and Sally". Dick and Sally toured the country, entertaining throngs of people with their offbeat brand of humor that featured parodies, audience participation, audio and visual effects and, oh? Did I say hilarious characters and bits?
Always striving to offer audiences something "different" than what they usually see at comedy clubs and venues, Dick and Sally were immediate favorites of clubs and audiences and won several comedy competitions including "Funniest Person(s) in Florida".
In 1990, Sally's parents passed away in Memphis, TN., thus precipitating a move for her to Tennessee. But alas, the distance proved too far to maintain the comedy act, and "Fun with Dick and Sally" sadly came to a close.
Sally decided to see what it would be like to take a "normal" job, so she became a Licensed Private Investigator. She was "too stupid" (her own words) to realize how dangerous the work was that she was doing, and thus became a really good detective by fault. But eventually, after several harrowing encounters, she gave up that line of work and started working with a more gentle crowd - senior citizens. She became a Director of Activities and Entertainment at large, independent living retirement communities. Soon, the realization that she too, was getting up there in years, Sally decided to make due of her time and pursue her passion and thrill of making people laugh.
Today, Sally is back doing comedy and goes by the name of "Happi Johnson". You never know what to expect from Happi, except offbeat humor and hopefully, some chuckles. And that, my friends, is what makes her "Happi".
